Sanrio’s newest feat of fleshing out their app into a full fledged game has been taking sweeping the gaming community. There have been many reviews and a lot of content that has come out about this title.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a fun and cozy island excursion that creates an enjoyable tropical experience for those who choose to play.
Though this a fun and well laid out game you may have found yourself running into into a snag or two while during your experience.
I know for myself that I’ve ran into some issues and wanted shed some light to help you out. If that sounds like you then here are 7 Life Changing Tips to help you in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
7 Life Changing Tips to Help You for Hello Kitty Island Adventure
1. Tools Are Hard
There are many well laid aspects of the game that are clever and fun to play. However, one aspect that can be challenging is that the game is not very good about giving its players tutorials on how to accomplish different tasks.
This can make it difficult for players to understand how to do things such as using different tools.
Just as an example, I had trouble trying to figure out how to use the fishing pole when learning how to use it. I myself had to fail at casting out a few times to learn how to do it and I’ve played A LOT of video games (it’s the combination of Y to task with the left joy stick to reel in in case you were wonderin).
Without giving too much away there are many tools that you will acquire throughout the story but there are very minimal tutorials on how to use them.
This will involve you taking several minutes just to learn how use your new equipment. I will say that I have gotten quite far with just hitting random buttons until I figure out what to do.
Thankfully, nothing is too hard to learn though there is no shame in looking up tutorials. I will say that I have gotten quite far with just hitting random buttons until I figure out what to do.
2. Bouquets Will Save Your Butt
It doesn’t take long of playing the game to realize that much of the story is locked every 24 hours.
You can’t further the story without deepening relationships within the game and you can’t deepen relationships without giving gifts.
You can only give three gifts per character per day so this can slow down the process quite a bit. If you’re anything like me this can make you impatient while trying to play as I can’t binge play the game especially when you’ve gotten hooked on it.
This is where bouquets come in. If you log in each day and do enough quests you will start to earn friendship flowers and bouquets that you can use to extend your gift giving.
This will speed up the process and make it easier for you to further the story much quicker. I would recommend you gift everyone their three gifts BEFORE using the bouquets to maximize your playability.
You can also get item bouquets that will reset all the resources on the island so that you can collect even more.
3. Craft Multiple Items at the Same Time
This next tip is a small one but it changed my life when I finally noticed it. If you need to craft multiple things as once you can adjust the amount down below in the crafting window in case you want to make even more items in bulk.
By toggling the ZL and ZR button in the crafting window you can maximize your crafting output to make your life so much easier.
This can help a lot when you have an item that requires a lot of another crafted resource to be made and can make your life a lot easer.
I know that there’s a lot of quests and recipes that requires a lot of resources to be able to get you where you need to go. This makes things a lot faster and will help you even more in tropical crafting journey.
4. Level Up Your Stamina
This game utilizes the stamina wheel much like in games like Breath of the Wild. This is a fundamental aspect of the game and is required if you want to get around to more difficult places such as the mountain area.
To do this you have to collect stamina apple slices to craft apples that will permanently boost your stamina.
I had to learn not to neglect my stamina wheel as it really adds so much more mobility to the game and helps you to find all the characters on the island faster.
It also makes playing the game a lot more fun as there are a lot of exciting little pockets and hidden aspects of the game that encourage you to explore to discover more parts of the island. Give this a try to get the fullness out of the game.
5. Under Lock and Key
Though the game has a lot of fun quests the quest board can be a bit difficult to read at times.
There’s also many quests that can’t be done until you do other quests and it can be hard to know what to do next. Though this can become overwhelming there are ways to mitigate this.
The root of completing most quests often boils down to leveling up friendships with different characters to further the storyline.
Looking for each character who will give you specific quests and leveling up your friendship with them is the key getting further. Another aspect that tends to help me with quests is by checking to see if they have a lock symbol by them or not.
If there’s a lock symbol by the quest title then I usually won’t bother with it as it is still locked. Focusing on the ones that are not locked are what you want to keep your eye and will make your life easier.
If you’re struggling with feeling of being overwhelmed with quests then try this method to make it easier to digest and understand.
6. Level Up ALL of Your Relationships
As mentioned in the previous tip much of the story progression comes from progressing your relationships.
Many quests are layered within others and require you to do things for different members of the island. This being the case you will need to keep up with your relationship levels and progress with each character.
Making the rounds on the island to keep up with your gift giving will help you make tremendous strides in your main story line. It also helps to continuously have items for each character in your inventory to make the task easier for you.
I like to use the bulk option mentioned above and craft different items for each character so that I know I have things on hand that they will like.
7. Nulls are Not Null
At some point you will get the ability to have the nulls forage for items for you so long as you can select it in your inventory.
This makes life SO much easier as you can ask them to collect something you know you’ll need and they will have it ready for you in a chest the next day.
This has helped me out with quests and with gift giving as I can get a bulk of items each day to use for whatever I need. I like to look in my inventory and ask for what seems low each day regardless of whether I need it immediately or now.
How I do this is I will ask for resources that I know other characters will like to have on hand. One way I do this is I will often ask the Null to collect pumpkins as I know that Kuromi likes them or for calm stones for Pekkle.
It’s also smart to ask for things like sand dollars or sticks as these are items that get used a lot. Doing this will make your life so much easier in the long run and help to keep your inventory full for any quest that comes your way.
