Story

In the realm of Mail Time you are the newest member of the Mail Scouts and it is your first day on the job. Your first major task is to deliver a letter to Greg. That doesn’t sound too hard, does it? Until you realize that you and your trainer have no idea who Greg is and you have to go on a quest to deliver him this letter. On the way you meet many other tenants of the forest as you journey through the small town of Grumblewood Grove to deliver letters and complete various quests.

Right off the bat this game gives you a low stakes story with a fun and wholesome premise. At its base, the story is essentially just delivering letters. However, as you move through the story you meet so many adorable characters and aid them in their endeavors to send and receive mail.

This whole game feels like one big side quest but in reality, it is a culmination of you moving through the lives of so many adorable forest animals. Due to the game’s story, you could play the game at night and not have issues falling asleep. While the game is a fun story it is only two hours long. Despite this the game leaves very little to be desired and does not feel like it’s only a two hour game.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very straight forward and not hard to figure out. Much of the game runs like a platformer so controls like double jump and glide are commonplace in Mail Time. There are not many aspects of the game that are not difficult and add a more relaxed feel to the game rather than making it harder to manage.

The only real issue with the game is the fact that the area does not come with a map. However, the varying landscape of the game is not too difficult to learn, and the game makes you travel around the area enough to where you will learn quickly where everything is.

As mentioned in the story paragraph the story of the game is one that you could absorb before bed and have no problems. The gameplay reinforces this as nothing about playing the game is stressful or excessively time consuming. Playing Mail Time feels like a relaxing world of fun in which you feel healthily socialized and needed without the hassle of stress.
