Intro
The newest gaming trend of cozy games is sweeping social media and the gaming community. People love the fun atmospheres, touching stories, and overall wholesome gaming experience that cozy games have to offer. Coral Island, a recent release in this genre, has been popping off in the cozy gaming community and it’s easy to see why. This tropical cozy experience has been taking people to the seaside for a wonderfully fun and wholesome experience.
With so many ways to play the game, and most of the enjoyment coming from personal preference, it can be overwhelming at first to new cozy gamers. Not to mention how the game can be a bit difficult for those who are new to the farming life sim genre. So, given this game’s recent popularity this article is here to help newer players with some tips and tricks to help you along in your island adventure.

1. Has It Been Offered/Donated?
Coral Island, like other popular cozy games, has a couple of fun donation aspects to it. Donating to the museum or helping the goddess by making offerings is a great way to add some delayed gratification to the mix. But with so many items to keep track of it can be difficult to remember what you’ve given and what you haven’t.
However, the game devs prepared for this by adding donated or offered icons in the description of each item in your inventory. If it can be donated or offered it will say so in the description of that item in your inventory. If it has been donated/offered it will show as green but if not, it will show up grey. This took me some time to figure out and I’m glad I did because this has made my gaming experience MUCH easier.
2. Slow Your Roll
Ever wished while you were playing a cozy game that you could slow down time? Well Coral Island has got you covered. In this game you can slow down the speed of how long a day is. You can adjust this in the settings and is, well, a game changer. When I discovered this I was able to get through mine floors easier and through cleaning up the ocean faster since I had more time to accomplish tasks. So, whenever you feel as if there aren’t enough hours in the day while exploring the island consider changing things up in the options setting.
3. Your pickaxe is your best friend
Your pickaxe is not only good for mining ore but also for moving objects. If you put down something outside such as your furnace or a mayonnaise maker you will need a pickaxe to be able to move it. Just hit it with your pickaxe and you can add it to your inventory to move it. Some objects will require you to select them, such as a scarecrow, before hitting it with your pickaxe to move it. Either way, you will need this tool if you feel like doing any outdoors redecorating.
4. Mining is hard. Make it Easy
I’m gonna be honest, there have been times in cozy games where I have been disappointed at the lack of usefulness of explosives. Yes, I know dynamite doesn’t tend to fit in with the wholesome and relaxing atmosphere of the cozy gaming genre. But we all know that mining can be frustrating and time consuming sometimes.
Thankfully, Coral Island understands that sometimes the coziest thing you can do is blow something up. You can use dynamite in the mines to clear the floor and make your life tons easier. You can also use it to mine resources like hardwood or certain resources that you don’t have a strong enough tool for yet. Either way, sometimes it’s relaxing to take the fun way out. So next time you’re in the mines try to use some TNT to help you along in your TLC.
5. Some Areas Are Blocked Off
There will be areas of the island that you will not have access to from the start of the game. You will need to progress through the game to unlock some of these areas. Once you do, certain resources, upgrades, and story specific events will become available to you. This takes time so don’t feel bad if you don’t have them all unlocked within your first season. Much of these require leveling up your island, finishing specific quests, and donating to the Lake Temple. Be patient and focus on making your island the best it can be.
Conclusion
Whatever your gaming experience it’s always a good idea to brush up on tips and tricks for whatever game you’re playing. Remember the best tip that I can give you is to have fun and enjoy the game that you’re playing. Coral Island is a marathon type cozy game, and not a sprint. The point of the game is to take it slow and enjoy your gaming experience. Remember, this game is all about spending your time on island time. Enjoy yourself and do whatever research you can to help maximize your fun.
