- Learn the Etiquette
Palia is a fun game that is very cozy in the best way possible. A lot of this is due in part to the relaxing gaming mechanics, interesting characters, and lush landscape. However, one other aspect about Palia that makes it stand out in this regard is its player base.
There are some aspects of the game that require players to work together rather than against each other. Palia has more than enough resources to go around so when it comes to getting what you need it’s better to work with others than against them. Be sure when working with other players to know the proper etiquette and what is appropriate at certain times.
For example, flow tree wood is a huge resource in the game of Palia. However, most of the time you’re going to need other to help you gather this resource as it is very hard to get to on your own. Doing a little research will go a long way in getting help for different tasks within the game even if it’s just watching one YouTube video.
2. Conditional Relationships
As mentioned above the NPCs in Palia are pretty engaging and have a lot to offer in adding to the overall gaming experience. I know it is customary to often ignore the NPCs in a game, but if you do this in Palia you are doing yourself a great disservice. The locals in town are often very generous and are willing to part with valuable items if you’re able to complete quests for them. T
he more you build a relationship with members of the town the more likely you are to get important resources such as wood planks, seeds, and crafting materials. I hardly ever need to buy seeds because I get them a lot from quests. I did a quest for Ashura the other day and he gave me 100 planks of heartwood. Did another for Nai’o and he gave me 100 fertilizers.
Even a new player could tell you that doing quests for Reth will get you SO MUCH free food. It pays to get to know the NPCs if you want to get further along in the game especially if you’re low on resources. Plus, you get some really good story content from the game out of these folks as well so bare that in mind.
3. Ask for Help
While the game does encourage players to interact to gain resources it also encourages players to ask for help. Many Palian players are wonderful helpers and are more than happy to lend a hand.
Don’t know how to do something? Pop it in the common chat. Need a resource that you can’t seem to find? Request it in the social menu and see if anyone will complete your request. I’ve put in several requests in desperate need of difficult resources and I have had them all fulfilled by complete strangers.
Don’t write off the community in this game as they just might surprise you in how much aid they’re willing to offer to others. Always remember to reach out in the future. Just be sure to pay it forward when the time comes.
5. Explore Often
There are a lot of nooks and crannies in this game that are hiding in plain sight, and you could be walking passed some pretty important items. Be sure to look as far as the eye can see as you may find valuable resources hiding amongst the foliage and rubble.
Hidden passageways behind ivy, giant holes in the ground, secret rooms behind rocks and many more little spaces to shimmy your way into. Palia is a big open world game and there’s a lot to be found under the layers of this onion of an RPG. If you look around long enough, I promise you won’t regret it.
Warning!! Minor spoilers ahead!!!
5. Play Hot Pot
I cannot stress enough how fun this game is. If you’re low on coin or just want a fun time, then you should definitely check out hot pot. Located in The Underground black market it is a four-player game that you are sure to enjoy.
Hot Pot is a matching game where each player at the table strives to create matches with their tiles in order to win the game. There is no loss to playing and no matter what place you come in your earn money and a wheel tokens.
No betting, no hassle, and all fun. I if you’re looking for some light fun to play alone or with friends than this game is sure to not disappoint. Unless you don’t like card games. Then you might want to skip this one,
